I’m happy to report that I am writing this pool side in Tampa. I’ve been blessed with a job that I adore and a perk is the occasional trip south where I can soak in some sun after work (or in this case, while I wait for my flight).
Some proof for you.
Something I’ve been meaning to write about is regarding motivation vs. discipline. I have read and listened to numerous influencers and authors about this topic.
As a dietitian, the people I see that reach their goals all have on thing in common: they are disciplined. Those that rely on motivation are the ones that yo-yo through life. They are the ones on the newest crash diet or repeatedly starting programs and paying ungodly amounts hoping that money will be a motivating factor.
I hear all of the time about crash diets and programs that “it really worked for me-I lost 30 lbs.” then later in the conversation “yeah, I gained it all back”.
Well that program did NOT work for you. It is called a lifestyle for a reason and just like when you don’t want to do something in life (work, laundry, change the baby’s diaper, etc.), you need to have the discipline to get it done.
Motivation will come and go. When motivation hits- ROCK IT! But when you have days when you can’t be bothered, you need to be disciplined if you want the results you’re going for.
I am not always motivated but I sure am hell disciplined. I’m not perfect but I love my journey on becoming a more balanced mama.
Keep working hard on your goals!
