I have been working on some more “heart-healthy” recipes lately and this easy low sodium teriyaki sauce fits the bill. The biggest substitution is using liquid aminos vs. soy sauce. The sauce is versatile and typically we have been using it with our meats. Enjoy!
All you need:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup liquid aminos
- 1 tbsp. minced garlic
- 2 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 tbsp. corn syrup
- 2/3 cup honey
All you do:
- In a medium sauce pan, add water, liquid aminos, garlic, and ginger
- Bring water to a boil and stir in corn starch until thickened.
- Reduce heat and stir in honey
- Reserve about 2 tbsp. of the glaze for later. Pour over meat and let marinade. I like to use the additional 2 tbsp. of glaze half way through cooking.
Enjoy!!
